You may love your job but a demanding workload makes it hard for you to switch off; on the other hand, you may dislike your job and are looking to leave. Whatever your reason, here are a few ideas to help combat the Sunday night blues:-

1. Delete your email app - weekends should mean a complete pause from all things work-related however mobile phones have made it difficult as our work can follow us with our emails dinging us at all hours. Consider deleting or silencing your email app on a Friday or as soon as your working week finishes. This serves as a marker for you to 'down tools' and relax.

2. Work for 1 hour on a Sunday - this may seem counter-intuitive - however, if you are spending part of your Sunday worrying about the volume of emails accruing in your inbox, then going through some of them could reduce your time spent worrying about them

3. Plan your week - creating a proactive plan for your week brings about a sense of calm and control. Write it down - when you put pen to paper it helps to slow you down and focus on what you really want to achieve

4. Find something during the working week to get excited about - it could be speaking with a new colleague, or booking a night out with friends

5. Write a list of things that make you happy - like listening to a podcast on your commute, or having lunch at a favourite location

6. Plan times for these things as if they were work meetings - schedule them in so they happen and work doesn't derail you. Making time for yourself is healthy and very necessary
