Putting Mental Wellbeing First

Enigma Wellness has launched a Mental Health Training Course, accredited by Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA). Open to all businesses whatever their size, the course will equip staff with the skills required to support their own and colleagues’ positive wellbeing in the workplace.

With most adults spending at least a third of their time at work and 1 in 6 experiencing common mental health problems such as anxiety or depression, there has never been a more pressing time for businesses to put mental health higher up the agenda.

Tommy Lowther

The course will be led by Tommy Lowther, who served with the British Army and subsequently the Metropolitan Police, during which time he was on the frontline for theJuly terrorist attacks in London in 2005. His experiences have left him suffering from PTSD, but despite this, he has helped thousands of wounded veterans into work, providing support and training through his charity Sporting Force. With his own personal story and lessons learned working with/helping many people to deal with mental health issues, Tommy brings a wealth of experience and real-world examples. Bringing the course content alive and making an impact.

Dan Jones, Corporate Wellbeing Manager at Enigma Wellness comments, “Smart businesses are increasingly putting the wellbeing of their staff higher up the agenda. Studies show that healthier employees are happier, more engaged and more productive. This course will equip businesses with practical mental health skills to help create a safe, healthy workplace, where the mental and physical health of employees are valued equally. It gives people the tools to support their own mental health and that of their colleagues, encouraging them to access support when needed.”

The Enigma Wellness Mental Health First Aid course is underpinned by the internationally recognised Mental Health First Aid England qualification. Learning takes place through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions.
